So Sad! Phillip Hughes, The Australian Cricketer Who Was Hit With A Ball, Dies Just 3 Days Before His 26th Birthday

This is so sad! How can someone just die from being hit in the neck with a cricket ball? That’s exactly what happened to Australian cricketer – Phillip Hughes.

Two days ago on Nov. 25 he was struck by a ball in the lower back of his neck, during a cricket match at the Sydney Cricket Ground in Australia.


The 25 year old collapsed and was immediately taken to hospital in critical condition, where he had emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. After his surgery he was put in an induced coma, which he never came out of. He died today, exactly three days before his 26th birthday.

The bowler who threw the deadly ball, 21-year-old Sean Abbott was inconsolable outside the hospital when he heard about Phillip’s death. He is said to be struggling with the role he unknowingly played in the cricketer’s death, there are fears over his emotional well –being.
So young…so terribly sad…may his soul rest in peace.
